Chester-East Lincoln's summer makeover

This summer Chester-East Lincoln is going through some upgrades and having some of its parts polished. A work crew from mechanical contractor E.L. Pruitt, Springfield, is installing new pipes in the heating system. Approximately 4,000 feet of 4-inch pipe is being used to upgrade existing lines in the south and east wings. Original pipes were underground and had begun to develop leaks. They are being replaced with overhead lines, hidden above the dropped ceiling. The eight-week job is on schedule and will be completed by the end of July.

Allred Floor Service, Morton, has refinished the gym floor. The janitorial staff is moving furniture in order to clean classrooms. The building will shine when students return from summer vacation.
