Grains futures slide, livestock prices are mixed

[July 12, 2011]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures slid in early trading Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareWheat for September delivery tumbled 22.75 cents to $6.285 a bushel; December corn fell 9.75 cents to $6.2725 a bushel; November soybeans dropped 5.5 cents to $13.41 a bushel; while December oats were unchanged at $3.5675 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures traded mixed on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle rose 0.35 cent to $1.15 a pound; August feeder cattle dipped 0.05 cent to $1.4355 a pound; August lean hogs gained 2.38 cents to 98.55 cents a pound; while August pork bellies were unchanged at $1.065 a pound.
