Humane Society Ales for Tails, Draw 4 Carroll winners, and Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln presentation make Close Up

[July 12, 2011]  The Humane Society of Logan County is hosting the third annual Ales for Tails on Friday, July 15, at Chad's Blind from 6 to 10 p.m.

Music will be provided by the band Shiftin' Gears. The public is invited to attend the evening of fun that includes beer and wine samplings, catering by Lincoln College, a door prize, and a 50-50 drawing.

Tickets for this signature event are $30 and can be purchased at www.hslclincoln.org or by calling 217-732-1979.

The semiannual general membership meeting will be on Wednesday, July 20, at the HSLC shelter. At that time the organization will elect a board member to complete a term that expires in January. If anyone is interested in running for this position, please submit a letter of intent to Wanda Stevens at wstevens@ccaonline.com or P.O. Box 44, Lincoln, IL 62656.

Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society is hosting Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln presented by Gary and Carol Simpkins from Simpkins Military History Museum of Heyworth. The event will be Monday, July 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Woman's Club, 230 N. McLean St. in Lincoln. The public is invited.
