Pearson was charged with one count of taking property valued at more
than $500 from the Mount Pulaski Grade School Booster Club. The
charge is a Class 3 felony with a sentence of up to five years in
prison.
Ms. Pearson appeared without counsel and notified the judge that
she wished to represent herself.
Harris issued on record a concern that Pearson either hire
counsel or apply for a public defender. He requested Pearson
reconsider her decision and rescheduled the case for Aug. 2.
