[July 19, 2011]  LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Los Angeles City Council President Eric Garcetti has made a return appearance on TNT's "The Closer," as the fictional mayor of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times says Garcetti, who's been mentioned as a possible candidate in the 2013 Los Angeles mayoral race, reprised his role Monday night as fictional Los Angeles Mayor Ramon Quintero on the police drama.

Garcetti made his first appearance on "The Closer" last fall.

His father, former Los Angeles County Dist. Atty. Gil Garcetti, is a consultant for the show, which follows several detectives in the Los Angeles Police Department.

Eric Garcetti also appeared with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on an episode of "All My Children" last year.
