State summer utility assistance not available in 2011

[June 03, 2011]  LiNCOLN, IL – June 1, 2011 – Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois announced today that there will not be a summer utility assistance program available this year.

The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has informed the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) local administrating agencies throughout Illinois that funding for the program is not currently available.

Any groups or individuals wishing to donate funds that will allow Community Action to purchase fans for clients should contact Kimberly Lucas, LIHEAP Assistant Coordinator, at 217-732-2159 ext. 241.
