[June 07, 2011]  High temperatures, humidity and racers descended on the Lincoln Speedway Friday night. Graduations and the first days of sweltering heat had car counts down, but promoters Norm and Yvonne Horn feel that the counts will be back as summer gets into full swing. The speedway will feature NASCAR Night on June 14 and the Sprint Nationals on June 16.

In the Wild Things class, 4J Damin Jones was knocked off by D30 Eric Wisher. Jones had been dominating at Lincoln Speedway, capturing the most feature wins in this class since opening night. Jerry Benninger driving the 33 finished fourth, 4SQ Stephanie Eskew third, and grabbing the second position was the 5, driven by Josh Osborne. The 4J finished in sixth place.

The Street Stock class saw a nice field of cars Friday night. John Farris went to victory lane in the 90 among a field of 14 cars in the feature event. Chuck Barnes Jr. finished second, followed by Rick Skelton with the 10, Bobby Eskew in the 19E and the O driven by Terry Miller.

The 14 Cashless Racing, driven by Brian Lynn, grabbed its second feature win in the Modifieds at Lincoln Speedway. Currently Lynn is leading the points chase at the speedway. Alan Weisser driving the 25 finished second, followed by Jackie Willis Jr. in the 17 and then A9 A.J. May.

Bo Harrison in the 55 E-Mod captured his first heat race. Low E-Mod car count forced the class to run their feature with the Modifieds, so Harrison was unable to feel the rush of starting on the pole in the feature after his heat win. But staying on the lead lap for most of the race, Harrison hung right with the big dogs of the Modified class.

The B1, driven by Nick Bauman, took home the checkered flag in the Pro Late Model class. Evan Fink in the 1F took second place, followed by 17B Matt Beadles, 18 Randy Myers and 7L Jerry Lierly.
