[June 07, 2011]  This year the Logan County Fair has scheduled the hit country band Lonestar for Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.

Lonestar has sold over 10 million albums and has had 10 No. 1 country hits as well as nine Top 40 songs on the pop charts, including "No News," "Come Cryin' to Me" and their smash "Amazed," which spent eight weeks at the No. 1 spot on the country charts as well as reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The dual win made them the first country act since Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream" in 1983 to accomplish this career milestone. Lonestar first charted in late 1995 with the single "Tequila Talkin,'" the first of 27 singles on the country charts.

Three of their albums have been certified gold, while three more have been certified platinum or higher.

The band recently finished their 10th album, "Party Heard Round the World." Since they personally wrote eight of the album's 10 songs, this meant that Lonestar fans would get a firsthand look into the hearts and minds of the group. Each song, from the anthemic title track to the show-stopping "You're The Reason," reveals the personalities, emotions and inspirations that collectively and individually make the band who they are.

"We sat down together and worked all these songs out," recounts lead vocalist Cody Collins. "We put our hearts and soul into it."

Tickets for the concert are now available at the Logan County Fair office at 217-732-3311. Visa and MasterCard will be accepted. Local band Still Kick'n, from Williamsville, will be the opening act again this year.
