Lincoln FOP 208 cleans up with games against Clinton

[June 09, 2011]   This week was busy for the Lincoln FOP 208 girls. On Monday they hosted Clinton at the Lincoln Park District Breezy Field for a doubleheader.

Breanna Waller scored the first run in the first inning to start FOP 208's lead. Clinton's defense was no match for Lincoln's heavy hitting in the fourth inning.

FOP 208 won 17-0. Winning pitcher was Waller.

In the second game, FOP 208 scored seven runs in the first inning and another seven in the second. The final score was 21-1. Winning pitcher was Jazminn Moorecraft.

On Wednesday, the Lincoln FOP 208 girls traveled to Clinton to play in a doubleheader.

Emma Nepellelo scored the first run in the first inning on a base hit from Ashley Getchel. Lincoln won 18-2. Winning pitcher was Waller.

Misc

In the second game, Nepellelo scored on a base hit by Getchel to start a seven-run streak. Every batter scored in the first inning. FOP 208 won 20-0. Winning pitcher was Kelsey Pickett.

FOP 208 will host Clinton on Monday for their last and final doubleheader against Clinton this season.

The Lincoln FOP 208 record is 6-3, with the three loses to Mount Pulaski.

Current top three hitters are Getchel with 18 hits and a .529 average, Waller with 17 hits and a .459 average, and Josie Villegas with 16 hits and a .552 average.

The rest of the team has a combined .424 average after nine games and 38 innings played.
