[June 10, 2011]  Community Action has received a donation from the Lincoln Elks Lodge 914 Charitable Trust. Marcia Warner of the Lincoln Elks presented the $2,500 check to Kimberly Lucas, LIHEAP assistant coordinator. The funds will be used to purchase fans for clients, as a summer cooling program is not offered this year.

"We are extremely grateful for these funds. The fans we are able to purchase will give our clients relief during the hot summer months. We are thrilled that we will still be able to help people stay cool this summer," Lucas said.

Any groups or individuals wishing to donate funds that will allow Community Action to purchase fans for clients should contact Lucas at 217-732-2159, ext. 241.

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is a not-for-profit agency serving the low-income and senior populations of six counties in central Illinois. For more information, visit www.capcil.org.
