Chester-East Lincoln hires Hamm as superintendent

[June 11, 2011]  The Chester-East Lincoln Board of Education has hired a new school superintendent, Mrs. Jennifer Hamm. Hamm joined the district effective June 6.

Prior to coming to Chester-East Lincoln, Mrs. Hamm was the director of educational support services at East Peoria Community High School District 309 from 2008 to 2011. She has also been the junior high and high school principal in Delavan.

Mrs. Hamm is a graduate of Illinois State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in history, education and English. She is also a graduate of the University of Illinois Springfield, with a master's degree in educational leadership, an educational specialist certificate and a certificate for a chief school business official. Currently, she is working toward completing her doctorate in public administration through UIS.

The Chester-East Lincoln board said they are looking forward to using her experience in curriculum development, assessment systems and strategic planning in order to move the district forward and increase student achievement. There are always areas in need of improvement, and the new superintendent is excited to have such a committed and experienced staff to work with in the process.
