Grain futures slide, livestock prices rise

[June 17, 2011]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures fell Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery tumbled 35.25 cents to $6.7325 a bushel; July corn fell 24.25 cents to $7.015 a bushel; July oats dropped 11.5 cents to $3.56 a bushel; while July soybeans slid 17.5 cents $13.505 a bushel.

Beef and pork futures rose on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle added 3 cents to $1.0785 a pound; August feeder cattle gained 3 cents to $1.2997 a pound; August lean hogs rose 0.70 cent to 95.22 cents a pound; while July pork bellies were unchanged at $1.21 a pound.
