When the teams started their walk around the gym at Lincoln College Friday night, there was a mix of emotions throughout the room.

Every person there was in the room for their own personal reason, yet they were all also there for one common reason: to do what they were able to do to help fight a disease that takes the lives of young and old, male and female, without discrimination.

Several teams of young people walked this year.

The dream and goal of every cancer victim is to "Celebrate more birthdays."

Survivors wore medals and pins commemorating their success.

Funky hats and unique headdresses were a part of the fun for the evening.

Many teams wore matching shirts to show they were a unit.

St. John United Church of Christ remembered their church family victims of cancer.

Each team raised money for the American Cancer Society. This year the goal is $85,000.

This year's slogan is "Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back."
