Fire department seeks info on vehicle fire

[June 20, 2011]  At 3:27 a.m. Sunday, the Lincoln Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire at 409 Tremont St. Upon their arrival, they discovered a car fully engulfed in flames in a driveway just of the alley. The firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, and no one was injured.

The car was valued at approximately $2,000 and is considered to be a total loss. A vehicle parked in close proximity to the fire also received some radiant heat damage.

A neighbor who had just arrived at home discovered the fire and called 911.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. If anyone has information related to this fire, they are urged to call the Lincoln Fire Department at 217-735-4020
