A look at a picture of the Mount Pulaski Horse
Show,
circa 1912 or 1913, courtesy of the Harry J. Wible
Photography Collection and Mount Pulaski Township Historical
Society Museum. The annual horse show on the south
side of the square drew larger crowds than any other Mount Pulaski
event from its beginning in 1912 until the shows were discontinued in
1936 due to street paving.
Although the horse shows have been discontinued, the celebration
this weekend in Mount Pulaski for their 175th birthday
should bring the crowds of old back to the town.
