[March 05, 2011]  Main Street Lincoln has announced March 20 as the date for its annual Looking for Lincoln and partnership event. The event will be at Lincoln College at 5 p.m. in the new museum at the Lincoln Center, 1115 Nicholson Road. During the evening, special recognition will be given to Main Street Lincoln members and partners.

Hardware"We are 'Celebrating Community' by recognizing and learning more about the people who live and work in our communities within Logan County," said Wanda Lee Rohlfs, Main Street executive director.

In keeping with the Looking for Lincoln Heritage Coalition, which manages the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area, presenters will provide dialog about the ways in which we interpret and celebrate the heritage of our region. Lincolnite Mike Fak will provide humor and help "connect the dots" for the kinship between towns and county. Chef Warren Wendlandt will prepare the food.

The ticket price is $15 per person. Tickets must be purchased in advance by March 10 at the following locations: in Lincoln at the Main Street Lincoln office, Beans & Such, and State Bank of Lincoln branches at Walmart and on Sangamon Street; at Farmers State Bank in Emden; Salt Creek Attic in Mount Pulaski; Illini Bank in Elkhart; Atlanta National Bank; New Holland Banking Center; Bank of Chestnut; Middletown State Bank; and Havana National Bank in San Jose.

For more information, please call the Main Street Lincoln office, 217-732-2929.
