[March 08, 2011]  NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. -- On a spring trip, Lincoln College baseball lost to Pasco-Hernando Community College 8-2 on Monday.

InsuranceThe Lynx were dominated on the offensive side, striking out 12 times. All 12 strikeouts were recorded by hard-throwing starting pitcher Jacob Huchio for Pasco-Hernando. Lincoln was held to only six hits.

Defensively, the Lynx created six errors in the losing effort, leaving room for several unearned runs.

Miles Quental, a graduate of O'Fallon High School, was credited with the loss after tossing four innings and giving up two earned runs.

"We flat-out did not compete defensively today," said Andrew Bartman, pitching coach for Lincoln. "Miles and Jeff Bolen pitched against one of the best offensive teams we will see all year and pitched well enough to win. We must continue to try and put pitching, hitting and defense together for a complete game."

The Lynx take on Century Community College on Tuesday in a two-game set.
