[March 09, 2011]  Lincoln's Open Table Concert Series continues April 14 at Chad's Blind, 1230 Fifth St. in Lincoln, with a 7 p.m. concert by recording artist Lesleigh Bennett.

Well known to people in Lincoln as a performer, Lesleigh Bennett has been singing as long as she remembers. After launching a Christian music recording venture with Daywind Records, Bennett released her first CD, "No Mountain Too High," in 2008. Since then she has continued to perform in a variety of venues.

The appearance at Chad's Blind will give Lesleigh's local fans an opportunity to hear both her traditional material and some new songs that she's been preparing.

Bennett and her husband, Christopher, own and operate the Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Lesleigh is a graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, and she and Christopher are parents of three children: Christian, Kacey and Peyton.

The April 14 concert is the third in a series sponsored by First Presbyterian Church in an effort to bring family-friendly live entertainment to Lincoln at an affordable price. Tickets to the concert are $5 and are available at the door. Proceeds will go to Together for Lincoln.
