More than 60 organizations will attend and
educational displays will be available. Health screenings will also
be available, including blood pressure, body fat calculations, pH
testing, hearing, pulse oximetry (oxygen level), hemoglobin/A1c for
diabetics and cholesterol. Most screenings are free of charge except
the hemoglobin, hemoglobin/A1c and cholesterol screenings, which
have a small fee.
Free nitrate screenings of well water will be offered by the
environmental health division of the Logan County Department of
Public Health.
Also, recyclable items will be collected, including print
cartridges, container glass, hearing aids, cell phones, pop tabs,
plastic bags, eyeglasses, rechargeable batteries and unused,
unwanted medications. Confidential document shredding will also be
available. Child fingerprinting will be offered too.
The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive from 9 a.m. to
1 p.m. during the health fair. First-time donors are welcome.
Peggy's Place will provide healthy food choices for purchase
during the fair.
