Grain futures jump, livestock prices mostly rise

[March 18, 2011]  CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures jumped Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for May delivery jumped 48.25 cents to $7.1025 a bushel; May corn added 30 cents to $6.4650 a bushel; May oats rose 20 cents to $3.35 a bushel; while soybeans for May delivery climbed 48.25 cents to $13.3525 a bushel.

Beef and pork traded mostly higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

April live cattle added 1.10 cent to $1.1160 a pound; April feeder cattle gained 1.57 cent to $1.2927 a pound; April lean hogs rose 2.85 cents to 88.15 cents a pound; while March pork bellies were unchanged at $1.1700 a pound.
