Lincoln won the first game 7-5. Shelbi Rentmeister (1-2) picked up
the win for the Lynx. Danielle Stephenson went 3 for 5 with a double
and an RBI; Blake Walch went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs; and
Casey Barretts went 2 for 4 with a double and RBI. In the second
game the Lynx lost a tough one in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The final score was 6-5. Jana Wright took the loss (1-3). Barretts
had another strong game, going 3 for 4.
Head coach Crystal Wurth commented: "The girls played solid for
14 innings. On the day we had 20 hits and played tough defense; we
just fell short the last game. Our girls can really hit the ball and
they are fun to watch. It was a tough loss today, but the girls
played really well. I am very proud of them."
The Lynx are now 4-6. Their next game is Tuesday at Illinois
Central College in Peoria.
