In addition to all those who took the plunge Saturday, several people came out to watch and enjoy a little time on the beach.

It takes a lot of effort to put together a plunge event. At the beach there were changing tents for after the plunge, clean dry towels and blankets in ample supply, music to lighten the mood, and safety personnel to assure that all the plungers were safe in the water.

The singing of our national anthem kicked off the event.

Rescue divers were in the water the entire time, just in case. Luckily, their services were not needed.
