Logan County's 12th annual Ag Scholarship Breakfast was on Thursday morning at the Lincoln Christian University Laughlin Center.

The early morning event featured a buffet breakfast catered by Guzzardo's; guest speaker John Hartman, chair of the chamber's ag scholarship committee and vice president of Farm Credit Services in Lincoln; and a presentation by the Hartsburg-Emden High School FFA ag issues debate team.

And, most important, the morning included the awarding of nine agricultural scholarships to Logan County youth who are currently pursuing an education majoring in the field of agriculture.

The ag breakfast is a very popular chamber of commerce event that draws in hundreds of guests each year. Approximately 50 local businesses help to sponsor the breakfast, which makes it possible for the event to be free of charge to the guests.
