Ex-White House press sec'y Perino joins publisher

[March 31, 2011]  NEW YORK (AP) -- A former White House press secretary has joined the publishing world.

Dana Perino, who served in the administration of George W. Bush, has been named editorial director of the conservative imprint Crown Forum. The publisher announced Wednesday that Perino would work on six to eight book projects a year. Crown, part of Random House, Inc., has published such authors as Ann Coulter, Pat Buchanan and Charles Murray.

Mary Matalin, a former aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, heads a conservative imprint at Simon & Schuster.
