The weekend turned out to be ideal for planting, with sunshine instead of cloudy gray, and warm winning over damp and cold. Anyone who had a mind to turn the soil had plenty of opportunities to find bedding plants and ornamentals for their beds.

Among one of the most popular stops around the community was the annual plant sale at the Logan County Fairgrounds by the Master Gardeners.

The proceeds from the annual sale are used to help finance Master Gardener special activities and also to support the program as a whole, which is a product of the University of Illinois via local Extension offices.
