Structure fire displaces 8 people, 1 pet

[May 03, 2011]  Lincoln Fire Department responded to a call Sunday at 711 Lincoln Ave.

When the fire department arrived, all occupants were out of the house. They said they could smell smoke but could not find anything.

Upon investigation, the fire department discovered an electrical issue inside the rear wall of the structure.

The fire displaced eight people who lived in the home, and a pet. The estimated damage to the house was $25,000.

There was mutual aid from off-duty Lincoln Fire Department members along with Lincoln Rural Fire Protection District, Atlanta Fire Department, Ameren, Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Street Department and Salvation Army.
