[May 12, 2011]  ULLIN -- Lincoln College traveled down to Ullin on Wednesday to take on  Region 24 foe Shawnee Community College. The Lynx were only able to hold on to a lead in one of the two games, falling 4-3 in game one and winning 5-4 in the rubber match.

They were leading 3-1 in the sixth inning in game one when an error by Manny Acevedo allowed two unearned runs to cross for the Saints. The Lynx left a runner in scoring position in the seventh after Brett Freund grounded into a double play to end the threat. Shawnee then scored with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to earn the victory. Miles Quintal received the loss after only allowing one earned run. Tyler Wallin chipped in at the plate with a two-run home run.

In game two the Lynx took the lead in the first frame and never looked back. Lucus Wright earned the victory after tossing 3 2/3 innings. Brad Passini retired the next seven straight hitters on only 13 pitches. Ricky Cody threw the seventh in his first save opportunity, allowing two runs on two errors before the side was finally retired.

Kenny May collected three hits in game two in the 5-4 victory.
