Crop scouting workshops set

[May 10, 2011]  A first round of crop scouting workshops has been set for the season. The first date is May 25, with identical programs being offered at the Blair Hoerbert farm from 9 to 11 a.m. and the Harry Schirding farm from 1 to 3 p.m. These workshops would be of interest to crop producers, ag business personnel and specialty growers.

The address of the Hoerbert farm is 2506 100th Ave., San Jose, IL 62682. The Schirding farm is at 17762 Schirding Ave., Petersburg, IL 62675.

The workshop format will have approximately an hour of classroom-type instruction to begin the program, then about an hour of hands-on field scouting.

Lead instructor for the sessions will be Matt Montgomery of Mason County Extension.

CCA credits will be applied for.

There is no cost for the workshops and preregistration is not needed, but if you would like to be put on the email list for notification of future workshops, please email fultonj@illinois.edu to be added to the contact list.
