Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Sunday, may 15th

Immediately following the 9:00 am Sunday worship service, Pastor Isaiah Obare will make a presentation on Christianity in Kenya, Africa.  Pastor Obare is a member of the Lutheran Church in Kenya.  His country borders the Muslim country of Somalia and the Lutheran Church in Kenya battles for the souls of their people.  Come on May 15th and hear the story of how they are winning.

Chicken Dinner tickets available.

The high school students of the GOOD NEWS Youth Choir are participating in the final fundraiser before their June choir tour. A Carry-Out Chicken Dinner will be on May 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The menu is baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed veggies with broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots, and a roll with butter. All proceeds will go toward helping the students cover their tour fees. Tickets may be purchased for $7 from any GOOD NEWS member or by calling the church office, 732-7618, through Sunday, May 8th.


Harvest of Talent Princess Tea
Saturday, June 4th in the Fellowship Center
Princesses ages3-12 (and their guests) are invited to attend. Tickets are available in the church office for $10 per person.

“Mosaic” in concert May 22nd in all three morning worships times (8:15, 9:30, 11:00) and Sunday evening at 6:00. They will be sharing music from their first worship album, “As Long As It Is Day” and their new release fresh from the studio coming July 2011 entitled, “Teach Us.” Mosaic is a diverse group of friends and artists that love God, love each other, and love sharing music. Though they grew up all around the country, the members of Mosaic all met and graduated from Belmont University in Nashville, TN. You will be inspired and uplifted by their music. Admission is free and a free-will offering will be accepted.


 


Special Bible Sudy
LifePointe Church of God, located at 601 Pulaski Street, has started a special Bible Study on Sunday Mornings at 9:30 a.m. and is planned to run for the next several months. The subject of the study is the Holy Spirit and is complete with biblical insights into what the Old and New Testament have to say about the purpose, working and gifting of the Holy Spirit. Anyone is welcome to come and attend the study.
