Humana, Honda, Panasonic are big market movers

[November 01, 2011]  NEW YORK (AP) -- Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Monday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

NYSE

Humana Inc., up $4.54 at $84.89

The health insurer's third-quarter net income rose 13 percent and it also gave a better 2012 forecast than some analysts expected.

B&G Foods Inc., up $1.62 at $21.22

The maker of Cream of Wheat bought Culver Specialty Brands, a unit of Unilever that makes Mrs. Dash seasonings, for $325 million.

Honda Motor Co. Ltd., down $2.65 at $29.90

The Japanese automaker's quarterly profit fell 56 percent due to a strong yen and production disruptions from the March tsunami.

Shaw Group Inc., up $1.08 at $23.26

The engineering company is considering selling its energy and chemicals unit saying it received interest from potential buyers.

Panasonic Corp., down 94 cents at $10.04

The Japanese electronics maker reported a $1.34 billion loss in the latest quarter due to falling TV sales and a stronger yen.

American Superconductor Corp., down 9 cents at $4.36

The wind turbine component maker said it is canceling its planned $265 million acquisition of Finnish rival Switch Engineering Oy.

Momenta Pharmaceuticals Inc., up $2.56 at $14.80

The biotechnology company said that a court blocked competitors from making generic versions of its anti-clotting drug enoxaparin.

DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc., down $1.57 at $18.55

The movie studio's new movie "Puss in Boots" earned $34 million in ticket sales over the weekend, below what analysts expected.
