[November 02, 2011]  LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Authorities in Las Vegas say a 12-year-old girl was killed while trick-or-treating when she was struck by a car whose driver is suspected of being intoxicated.

HardwareThe Clark County coroner says Faith Monet Love, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at a hospital after the crash about 8:15 p.m. Monday in a neighborhood several miles west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Witnesses tell the Las Vegas Review-Journal the girl was crossing the street with a group of trick-or-treaters when she was hit by 2009 Mazda RX-8. A teenager who saw the crash says the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed in a 25 mph zone.

The 41-year-old driver, Justin Caramanica, was arrested on a felony drunken driving charge and is being held at the Clark County jail.
