This Saturday men will be at the garage on the north side of the
church parking lot from 7 a.m. to noon to assist anyone who wants to
come by and get potatoes for personal use or to donate to the food
pantry, inner city mission or New Beginnings.For more

Bill Gossett will
speak about his Freedom Flight to Washington, D.C., with other
veterans when he gives a presentation Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the
Lincoln Woman's Club tea at 1 p.m. at the club building, 230 N.
McLean St.
Devotions for the meeting
will be given by Diane Osborn, with Janet Haning and Charlotte
Bennett serving as social co-chairwomen. Greeters will be Janet
Langenbahn and Carolyn Wessels.
Members are to bring nonperishable food items for the
Lincoln/Logan Food Pantry, and gift items to be sent to servicemen
and women.
To
help ensure an adequate blood supply for our region, the Central
Illinois Community Blood Center is offering several opportunities to
donate blood in Logan County.

your thing, or perhaps your schedule is filled and you just do not
have the time? We have the perfect solution for you! You are invited
to come to a Christmas cookie walk in the Lincoln Christian
Church Fellowship Center on Saturday, Dec. 10. From 8 to 11 a.m. a
variety of homemade Christmas cookies will be available to purchase.
You may make your own selection of cookies at $6 per pound or
purchase prepackaged cookies on a decorative plate for just $15.
Take them home for weekend entertaining, or pop them in your freezer
and you will be prepared for Christmas parties and last-minute
holiday guests.
Guests are invited to enter the Fellowship Center through the
north canopy door from the parking lot.
All proceeds from the cookie walk will become a part of the 2012
Harvest of Talents for World Hunger and will be channeled through
International Disaster Emergency Service to meet hunger needs
worldwide.
