Dietitian to speak at Community Action senior lunch

[November 09, 2011]  Community Action senior nutrition will offer a program with lunch on Nov. 21.

In honor of National Diabetes Month, a guest speaker will be featured at the senior nutrition congregate dining site in Latham. Dietitian Jennifer DiPasquale will give an educational presentation on the importance of prevention and the treatment of diabetes. She is a registered and licensed dietitian and a certified diabetes educator. She is the lead dietitian at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

The event will be at 11 a.m. at the Korner Café, 151 N. Macon St. in Latham.

All seniors age 60 and over are welcome to attend. There is a suggested donation of $3, though no individual will be turned away due to inability to pay. For more information or to register to attend, please call Angie at 217-732-2159, ext. 242.
