A crowd gathers for the tree lighting.

Alderwomen Marty Neitzel, right, and Joni Tibbs, center, wait for Santa before starting off to judge the window displays.

Roger Matson arrives for the lighting of the tree.

Main Street Lincoln director Wanda Lee Rohlfs, at left, Matson and Mary Kelley keep an eye out for Santa to arrive.

Waiting for Santa, folks enjoy participating in the singing of Christmas carols.

And then he arrives! With plenty of ho-ho-hos and waving to children, Santa is officially in Lincoln for the weekend.

As everyone shouts "1, 2, 3," Santa throws the switch to light the tree. Many downtown businesses also turned their lights on at the same time.

When Santa finishes checking out his little cottage, he says he's very happy to have such a nice little place when he comes to town.
