Freshman Alicia Carson led LCU with 16 kills in the opening match
against PBU. Senior Jamie McFadden recorded 13 kills and 16 digs.
Freshman Emma Donnelly provided 23 digs defensively.
The Red Lions continued their streak by beating Florida Christian in
three sets later that evening. McFadden once again led LCU with 12 kills,
while senior Lydia Bunting served up 36 assists to five different
Red Lions.
Afterward Bunting said, "I don't think anyone can question that we
definitely deserve to be here." The Red Lions entered the national
tournament with an "at-large" bid and have shown the quality of team they are.
"These games have been the best we've played all
season," McFadden said. "Every person on the team has peaked at the right time, and we
are ready to take on the No. 1 seed tomorrow."
Head Coach Jason Farr is happy with the way his team has been
playing and said, "We played very focused and driven today."
The No. 6 Red Lions are set to play No. 1 Clearwater Christian College
on Saturday at 9 a.m.. ___
