[November 12, 2011]  KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- The Lincoln Christian University Red Lions had a perfect 2-0 record at the national tournament on Friday. With wins over Philadelphia Biblical University (25-22, 25-17, 29-27) and Florida Christian College (25-14, 25-12, 25-11), the Red Lions will advance to the final four, which will play Saturday.

Freshman Alicia Carson led LCU with 16 kills in the opening match against PBU. Senior Jamie McFadden recorded 13 kills and 16 digs. Freshman Emma Donnelly provided 23 digs defensively.

The Red Lions continued their streak by beating Florida Christian in three sets later that evening. McFadden once again led LCU with 12 kills, while senior Lydia Bunting served up 36 assists to five different Red Lions.

Afterward Bunting said, "I don't think anyone can question that we definitely deserve to be here."

The Red Lions entered the national tournament with an "at-large" bid and have shown the quality of team they are.

"These games have been the best we've played all season," McFadden said. "Every person on the team has peaked at the right time, and we are ready to take on the No. 1 seed tomorrow."

Head Coach Jason Farr is happy with the way his team has been playing and said, "We played very focused and driven today."

The No. 6 Red Lions are set to play No. 1 Clearwater Christian College on Saturday at 9 a.m..
