[November 12, 2011]  ANKENY, Iowa -- After losing a high-scoring game to Central Christian College of the Bible last Monday, the Lincoln Christian University Red Lions were determined to regain form heading into the Faith tournament in Ankeny, Iowa. With tough defense, LCU pulled off a one-point win, 82-81, against Manhattan Christian College on Friday.

HardwareSenior Chris Lawson led the Red Lions with 30 points, while Junior Brady Cremeens chipped in 24 points and five assists. Senior Mac Ingmire helped out with 11 points and five assists.

Afterward Cremeens said: "We learned that we can go toe-to-toe with good, experienced teams and come out on top. We have a lot to improve upon, but this was a good steppingstone and building block for the rest of the year. It was close, but a win is a win and we'll take it."

The Red Lions ended the first half with a 45-33 lead, but the Crusaders of MCC started to make a game of it as the second half went on.

Ingmire later said: "We played a fairly good half of defense in the first half, but we've got to do a better job of finishing out a game on the defensive end. But overall, I was really pleased with our effort and fight to pull out the win at the end."

LCU (1-1) looks to make it a perfect weekend when they face Faith Bible College in Ankeny on Saturday.
