[November 14, 2011]  ANKENY, Iowa -- Coming off a close win, the Lincoln Christian University men's basketball team was unable to pull off the perfect weekend, as they lost to Faith Baptist Bible College 74-84.

Senior Chris Lawson led the Red Lions with 25 points, while sophomore Mark Hamm had 17. Lawson has been unstoppable throughout the beginning of the season, averaging nearly 27 points per game. Junior Brady Cremeens has also been a big asset to the Red Lions by averaging nearly 25 points per game.

LCU (1-2) will be back in action Saturday, when they host Great Lakes Christian College at 3 p.m. in the Laughlin Center.

LCU women get big win

Sophomore Moriah Kirkpatrick and freshman Tatiana Colclasure led the Lincoln Christian University women's basketball team to their first win of the season by beating Faith Baptist Bible College 59-40 on Saturday.

The Red Lions (1-1) were led by Kirkpatrick, who had 25 points and 15 rebounds. Colclasure nearly had a triple-double when she put up 20 points, nine steals and eight rebounds.

As a team LCU, had 16 steals and outrebounded Faith 52-41.

Head coach Amanda Bowman said after the game, "They really stepped up the pressure on defense, forcing Faith into committing several turnovers."

The Red Lions will be back in action when they host NCAA Division III Greenville College on Nov. 22 at 5 p.m. in the Laughlin Center.
