presented by Gary Freese, an experienced researcher, will be the
topic at the genealogy office on Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Don't miss
this program if you want to learn more about researching your family

The
public is invited to the Lincoln Public Library District's
retirement open house for Deb DeJarnette. Deb is retiring
from the library after 40 years of service to the community. The
open house will be on Monday from 9 a.m. to noon in the library
Annex. Refreshments will be served.
The
parents group of the Montessori Children's House of Lincoln
will have a trivia night Saturday at Rusty's Clubhouse, 2810
Woodlawn Road in Lincoln. Teams of eight people will play 10 rounds
of 10 questions each. Cost is $100 per team. Doors open at 6 p.m.
and the game will begin at 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be
available for purchase from Rusty's.
Funds raised will be offered as partial tuition waivers for new
students. Any parent interested in learning more about the
Montessori Children's House or the tuition waivers that will be
offered should contact the school at 217-732-6104 or

The September Senior of the Month at LCHS is Ethan Anderson
of Lincoln. His parents are James and Amy Anderson.
Ethan's school activities have included Fine Arts Club, Pep Club,
band, student government, basketball, cross country, tennis and
National Honor Society. Ethan has been active in the community as
well, including volunteer work with Mount Pulaski Grade School,
Logan County Dynamite Girls, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital,
Honeybear and Junior Topper basketball clinics, and numerous other
volunteer efforts.
Ethan is planning on pre-medicine as a college major.
The October Senior of the Month at LCHS is Morgan Conrady
of Lincoln. Her parents are Michael and Pamela Conrady.
Morgan's school activities have included band, choir and
madrigals, numerous school plays and musicals, Scholastic Bowl,
Thespians, French Club and National Honor Society. Morgan is
active in the community as well, including volunteer work with
Lincoln Food Pantry, Zonta, Humane Society, Lincoln Park District,
Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois, Logan County Fair,
American Legion, Zion Lutheran School, Faith Lutheran Church
Vacation Bible School, Washington-Monroe School and numerous other
volunteer efforts.
Morgan is planning on chemistry as a college major.
Logan County Bank congratulates Ethan and Morgan. The bank is
proud to sponsor Lincoln Community High School's Senior Student of
the Month/Year award and scholarship program. Each monthly winner
receives a $50 U.S. savings bond from the bank and is eligible for a
$1,500 scholarship awarded by bank, to be used at the college of
their choice.
