The Logan County chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans conducted a food drive the
first two Sundays in November at the 10 Lutheran churches in the
county and at the chapter's annual meeting Sunday. In all,
donations of
640 pounds of food and over $200 were brought to the food pantry
Tuesday morning.

the accident scene where a kindergarten minibus, left, collided head-on with a
truck loaded with coal, right, on a road in Yu Linzi township in Qingyang, in
northwestern China's Gansu province, on Wednesday. At least 17
kindergarten children and two adults were killed when the nine-seater school minibus
crammed with 64 people crashed on its way to class in western China, officials
and state media said.

Notto Technology has a new home. Chamber
ambassadors and well-wishers helped Eric and Sara Notto cut the
ribbon on their larger location at 519 Woodlawn Road. The Nottos
have also expanded their staff with the addition of a baby girl

this Oct. 21 photo, Stephen Cabral, director of the Theatre
Development Fund Costume Collection, shows a costume from the
production of "Shrek" in New York.
The outfit is among more than 75,000 donated
costumes available to not-for-profit performing arts companies
nationwide at discount.
The collection -- one of the largest theatrical
costume rental houses in the country -- has been used by everyone
from "Saturday Night Live" and "The Smurfs" to a high school in New
Jersey, a synagogue in Nevada and an opera company in Alaska.
It is moving to a new location in the Queens
borough of New York.
Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski gestures during the second
