[November 16, 2011]  PERU, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities say four teenagers have been killed in a fiery crash on a northern New York road.

They say two teens in a car hit two other teen pedestrians, and the car then crashed and burst into flames.

Peru Volunteer Fire Department Chief Brian Westover says Wednesday that when emergency crews arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. Tuesday, they found two teen victims on the road and the other two inside the burning car.

State police say they're investigating the accident in the town just south of Plattsburgh. Police say the names of the victims are being withheld until relatives are notified. Troopers say more information will be released Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred on a rural road near the northeastern boundary of the Adirondack Park.
