E. Elizabeth Morris

[November 21, 2011]  LINCOLN -- E. Elizabeth Morris, 72, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at her home.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln. A rosary service at 4:45 p.m. will precede the visitation.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible officiating.

Burial will be in Lucas Chapel Cemetery, rural Lincoln.

Mrs. Morris was an elementary teacher for District 27 for 30 years.

She was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Lincoln. Her parents were Stephen A. and Edna Sparks Power. She married Richard Morris in 1962.

She is survived by her husband; two sons, Mark (and Donna) Morris of Lincoln and Rick (and Kelly) Morris of Los Angeles, Calif., three grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexis and Zach; and one brother, Stephen A. (and Pat) Power of Granger, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Illinois Retired Teachers’ Association.

She graduated from Lincoln Community High School and Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a good friend to all who knew her.

Memorials may be made to the Sweet Pea Foundation or Holy Family Catholic Church.
