[November 23, 2011]  Cub Scouts from Lincoln Pack 111 had a food drive at Kroger on Saturday to benefit the Lincoln/Logan Food Pantry. The Scouts collected a pickup truck full of canned and boxed items and received $225.62 in cash donations.

The effort was part of the Boy Scouts of America W.D. Boyce Council's Scouting for Food program and included grocery bags that were dropped off at residences and picked up on Saturday. Service hours for the event go toward Good Turn for America, a national effort by the BSA to encourage community service.

Pack 111 has also recently been involved in community service with Scout Sweep, Together for Lincoln and the Harvest of Talents.

The pack is open to all boys in first through fifth grades in District 27 schools. Boys can join the pack by calling Jason Schafer, cubmaster, at 217-737-3068.
