LDN - Top Stories
Lincoln
Junior High School has three groups of instrumental musicians -- pep band,
concert band and jazz band. The pep band performs at boys’ home
basketball games. Members began practicing in September on
Tuesdays and Thursdays before school to polish their sound.
Dec. 5 is the band’s eighth and final performance for the
season.

Monday night’s game were (left to right, front) Sarah Leesman,

The LJHS concert band will present its winter concert at 7 p.m.

Soviet dictator Josef Stalin is seen with
his daughter, Svetlana Alliluyeva, in this

daughter, whose defection to the West during
the Cold War embarrassed the ruling
communists and made her a best-selling
author, has died at age 85. Svetlana, or
Lana Peters, died of colon cancer Nov. 22.

A

Miami. The large-scale installation was created by artist, architect and
composer Christopher Janney. Janney terms the work "an
abstraction of South Florida in color and sound." The official
dedication, hosted by Miami-Dade County's Art in
Public Places, will take place in conjunction with Art Basel Miami Beach
and Design Miami 2011.
