The
school offers preschool from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday through
Friday for 3- and 4-year-olds, and kindergarten and early elementary
education from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday for 5-
through 9-year-olds. Parents with children in this age group who may
be interested in attending are encouraged to contact the school at
737-1463 for more details. The deadline to apply for the spring
semester is Dec. 16. Montessori is a teaching method that channels
a child's innate curiosity toward the development of a love of
learning. Each child is provided the skills for writing, reading and
early mathematical concepts. Children are exposed to the world of
music and art, and are provided opportunities for individual
creativity. Manners and respect for others are strongly emphasized,
so that grace and courtesy become a part of a child's way of life.
Children have the freedom to move, speak and work at their own pace,
allowing each child to reach his full potential and become more
confident, self-disciplined and independent.
The parents group of the Montessori Children's House is making
these partial tuition waivers possible due to their strong belief in
the Montessori method and their desire to share this opportunity
with other local families.
Members of the community interested in learning more about the
Montessori Children's House are welcome to make an appointment to
observe the classroom in action.
