[October 05, 2011]  The Lincoln College men's soccer team finished their last regular-season game in winning fashion on Tuesday, defeating Parkland College by the score of 2-0.

Parkland came out very strong and pressed and condensed the field to try to not allow the Lynx time to play. However, Lincoln was able to score two goals in the first half, both by Edwin Moalosi. The first goal came on a counterattack when Adrien Sathler shot the ball past the keeper. The ball hit the post and bounced into play, where Moalosi drove it home. The second and final goal came from Julio Velasquez finding an open Moalosi in the 18-yard box to score his second goal of the match and his 16th of the season.

In goal Brian Krones was awarded the shutout victory.

With the win, the Lynx move to 10-3 on the season and 6-0 in region play with two Region 24 games to go. Last year Lincoln College was undefeated in the region.

The next match is at 4 p.m. Thursday in Springfield versus Region 24 opponent Lincoln Land, currently in the top 25 in the nation.
