[October 06, 2011]  Lincoln Community High School's FFA hosted its first Section 14 leadership training at the school Monday, with nine schools represented and 100 FFA members attending. School districts participating were Lincoln, Tri-City, Williamsville, Pawnee, PORTA, Hartsburg-Emden, Athens, Greenview and Mount Pulaski.

An introduction was given by Mr. Hitchings, LTEC director and former ag instructor. Morgan Kincheloe, 2011-2012 Section 14 president , welcomed the visiting FFA members and emceed the "Rules of the Road" program -- a "do and don't" demonstration of how to wear the FFA jacket and accessories. Section 14 officers demonstrated the manner of dress.

Students rotated to four sessions that focused on communications, personal leadership skills, FFA heritage and responsibilities. Three instructors were ag teachers from Section 14 schools, and one session was led by Clayton Carley, FFA state treasurer.

FFA districts across the country are preparing to attend the national convention on Oct. 19-21 in Indianapolis, Ind. Lincoln FFA will send 13 members, including five officers.
