[October 11, 2011]  BERLIN (AP) -- German police say a suspicious device has been found along railway tracks in Berlin a day after an arson attack on the capital's central station was thwarted.

Berlin police say security forces are clearing the area at a railway crossing in eastern Berlin.

A security official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to discuss the matter, said Tuesday that bomb disposal experts are at the site.

An arson attack Monday on Berlin's central station using seven bottles filled with flammable liquid bundled together and linked to a fuse was thwarted at the last minute. A similar device exploded near a high-speed train line west of Berlin, causing damage but no casualties, halting train traffic there for the day.

An unknown leftist group claimed responsibility for the attacks.
