[October 11, 2011]  The LCU Red Lions volleyball team traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Friday to participate in a triangular with the Coe College Kohawks and the Beloit College Buccaneers -- both NCAA Division III schools.

After losing the first set to the Kohawks 22-25 the Red Lions managed to pull out the second set 25-23. The Kohawks were too much to manage as they came out on top the next two sets, 23-25, 18-25, to win the match. The Red Lions were led by senior Lydia Bunting with 37 assists and eight digs, freshman Emma Donnelly with 19 digs, senior Jamie McFadden with 18 kills and 12 digs, and freshman Alicia Carson with 14 kills.

LCU then faced the Buccaneers of Beloit College and took the match in three sets, 25-16, 25-19 and 25-17. Bunting led the team with 30 assists while McFadden tallied 12 kills and nine digs.

The Red Lions are now 11-7 and will head to Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield to participate in a seven-team tournament Friday and Saturday.
