Thursday afternoon a large crowd turned out to participate in a march and rally to show support for Logan Correctional Center. The state-funded facility is on Gov. Pat Quinn's hit list to be closed in 2012. The rally was in protest of the governor's plans.

The crowd marched from the chamber of commerce offices on Fifth Street to the Logan County Courthouse. When they reached the courthouse, they heard from a variety of guest speakers who expressed their support for keeping the prison open.
