The Thursday afternoon march
and rally in support of keeping the Logan Correctional
Center open was organized jointly by Andi Hake of the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce and Michael Maniscalco of the
Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership.
Since hearing Gov. Pat Quinn's plans to shut down the facility
as a means of saving state funds, thousands of people around Lincoln
and Logan County have stepped up in support of the prison and its
357 employees.
Several officials turned out Thursday to address the rally and let the
community know that Logan Correctional Center will not go down
without a fight.
